Olympic Coach Endorses Pristine Condition Founder’s Legacy

John Lear

John Lear, one of the most respected figures in British weightlifting, has shared a glowing endorsement of David Snowdon MBE, Founder and CEO of Pristine Condition International.

Lear, who served as an Olympic Coach from 1960 to 2000 and was the UK’s National Director of Coaching for the British Weightlifting Association (BWLA), first crossed paths with Davy in the early 1980s. Decades later, he remains impressed by both the depth of Snowdon’s knowledge and the real-world impact of his work.

“Mr Snowdon MBE was a Physical Educationalist with a deep understanding of how strength and fitness training applies to performance,” said Lear. “He rapidly rose through the BWLA’s coaching ranks to become a Staff Coach – the highest grade in the sport – and brought that expertise to Team GB as Strength, Conditioning and Power Coach for all 32 sports at the Barcelona and Atlanta Olympic Games.”

Davy Snowdon’s contributions to the sport go beyond technical coaching. A former Guinness World Record holder, he was appointed National Coach of Great Britain’s Women’s Weightlifting Team in 1992, leading them to become European Champions and earning multiple individual titles.

His reputation as a lecturer and advisor extended across national governing bodies, combining practical coaching excellence with expert-level knowledge in applied anatomy, kinetics, and exercise physiology. According to Lear, it’s this unique blend of technical and applied knowledge that laid the foundation for the success of Pristine Condition.

“Davy’s ability to apply weightlifting principles to wider sectors—including workplace health and safety—has driven the growth of a hugely successful global business,” Lear concluded. “I would have no hesitation in personally recommending him and his company’s services.”

Pristine Condition continues to apply elite-level techniques to reduce workplace injuries and improve manual handling standards across industries. With roots in Olympic coaching and a mission to change behaviour for the better, the company remains a testament to Snowdon’s lifelong dedication to performance, safety, and education.
