With over 300 colleagues responsible for picking and distributing components across the globe, Daventry’s fast-paced environment placed significant strain on the body, particularly the shoulders and back.
Following an in-depth on-site assessment of tasks and techniques, Team Pristine developed a bespoke training package that included a custom training video and hands-on practical sessions. These were centred on our Essential Four® lifting principles—a set of techniques rooted in Olympic weightlifting and refined over 30 years of industrial application.
The results were remarkable: the Daventry site was named Global Winner at the Ford President’s Health and Safety Awards, recognising outstanding employee engagement, innovation, and proactive risk reduction strategies—key contributors to building a world-class safety culture.
Reflecting on Pristine Condition's safety programme, Bruce Lange, Senior Health, Safety & Environmental Engineer, had this to say:
“The stuff they did was amazing,” said Bruce. “It’s not just about work – it’s about life at home too. These four techniques can improve your life in and out of work.”
Bruce added:
“They spent two days looking at how we work, and then showed us a better way. Most of us had been doing it wrong for 20 years. What’s most important to me is that more people see this – it’s a chance to save backs, protect jobs, and help people enjoy active lives into retirement.”
We’re honoured to have played a role in supporting Ford Daventry’s safety success – and even more so to see the positive difference it’s making every day.
