The new, unique, innovative approach

to manual handling training

Delivering zero manual handling accidents!

Ask us how.

Caffyns PLC

The motor trade involves a lot of unusual manual handling operations requiring the lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of objects of all shape’s and sizes to be carried out in various situations. Road wheels vary from car to car, batteries are located in obscure locations and employee’s capabilities vary from person to person, all of which makes it difficult to identify the actual pressures being placed on the individual’s body.

That was the problem that we faced a year ago with employees being injured, having time off resulting in lost production time, claims for compensation and the risk of prosecution.

By working with Pristine Condition Ltd and with their involvement with the HSE they were able to understand our needs and delivered a training package, safe system of work and support material customised to our technicians working environment. By delivering the correct principles and concepts in the mechanics of manual handling in a fun and memorable style our employee’s have taken on board the training resulting in just one time loss injury in the last 12 months.

Training from Pristine Condition involves a focused theory talk in the capabilities of the body and practical session involving the delegates followed by one to one on the job assessment by the experienced trainer. Each branch is left with a trained support group member. Delegate’s commitment is rewarded with a certificate of training at the end of the course.

Commitment to training is given by both sides with ongoing support and regular visits by Pristine Condition Ltd keeping a high profile of this important issue. Investigation and reporting is provided by Pristine Condition Ltd when an accident occurs as to the root cause of the injury which so far has identified failure to follow training by the injured party.

In partnership with Pristine Condition Ltd we believe we have been able to deliver the best available training in manual handling to our employees and reduced the risk of injury to the lowest level practicable.
